A little bit about myself ...
Andrew Smith is an experienced and successful Physics Teacher. After achieving a first class honours degree in Physics and Mathematics, he trained to be a Science Teacher. Andrew has been teaching GCSE and A Level Physics for over 27 years in local secondary schools, and is very well respected by colleagues and past students. He has held numerous roles during his career including Head of Science and Deputy Headteacher. Andrew currently teaches GCSE and A Level Physics part time in a local Grammar School. Outside school, Andrew is a GCSE Physics Examiner with one of the Examination Boards. He has also been involved in delivering professional development to teachers helping them become more secure GCSE Physics teachers.
Andrew believes his experience means that he has the skills to quickly identify and help students understand even the most challenging topics. He has an excellent understanding of the GCSE and A Level Physics specifications, and how they are examined. Students taught by him perform consistently well in examinations.
Andrew enjoys supporting students on their learning journeys, and finds it very satisfying to help them understand difficult topics more clearly. He always works with good humour and enthusiasm. Andrew believes that the secrets to performing well in examinations are good subject knowledge, secure understanding of vocabulary, confident manipulation and use of mathematical formulae and constant experience of unfamiliar questions / contexts.

There are many advantages of private tuition:
Individual and unique learning experience.
One-to-one attention.
Improves academic performance.
Improves attitude towards learning and school.
Encourages self-paced and self-directed learning.
Improves self-esteem and confidence.
Improves work and study habits.
Fees
A one hour 1:1 online tutorial session is £45.
The name of this business is 'AMS Physics Tuition'.
Most parents pay weekly by bank transfer to my business account but I can also invoice monthly or for each half term.
This business is registered for self assessment tax.
Location
It doesn't matter where you are located, as long as you have a computer and an internet connection! Many of the students I support are local to the Bournmouth, Christchurch and Poole area. However, I also tutor students who live all over the UK, and occasionally abroad!
How does it work?
You will be offered a free one hour introductory session to discuss what is required and agree on a plan of action.
Depending on need, it might be that regular weekly sessions are needed over a longer period. Alternatively, an intensive few months of tutoring to improve a particular skill, knowledge gap or develop examination technique might be more appropriate.
Safeguarding
Andrew has an up to date enhanced DBS check because he teaches part time in a local grammar school. You are welcome to inspect the certificate. Andrew has also completed the NSPCC Private Tuition Safeguarding course.
